Programs include Outreach, Family Village Shelter, Rapid Re-Housing, Prevention, and Basic Income Guarantee. Annually, Path Home provides culturally competent, trauma-informed services to more than 600 families.

Job Title: Finance Associate 

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer 

Job Specifics: Part Time, 30 hours per week. Possibility of a hybrid schedule with expectations for onsite and remote work each week.

Compensation: $27-30/hour

Benefits: Full health and vision insurance (Providence), and dental insurance (Moda). Option to add family at employee's pre-tax expense. Path Home will contribute an amount equal to 2% of employee's total annual salary into a Simple IRA. 

Paid time Off: Three weeks of Paid Time Off (90 hours) plus Paid Sick Time (40 hours) annually. Path Home also recognizes up to 11 paid holidays throughout the year, depending on schedule.

Overview: 

Path Home is seeking a part-time Finance Associate who will be an integral part of the Finance Department and make a significant contribution to Path Home’s success. Path Home contracts with Susan Matlock Jones, who creates all GAAP-compliant financial statements and journal entries; the Finance Associate will work closely with Susan Matlock Jones to provide all required information to produce the financial statements. Responsibilities may include, but not limited to, analyzing information, maintaining accurate and complete records, handling accounts payable and receivable, assist with routine accounting duties, facilitate payroll through a third-party vendor (Paychex), and provide prompt, courteous responses to inquiries. The Finance Associate will have strong communication skills and possess great attention to detail in a multitasking environment.

Specific Job Duties: 

  • Working closely with Path Home’s Bookkeeping service, Susan Matlock Jones. 
  • Accounts Payable (A/P) duties: including but not limited to gathering payment approvals and entering journal entries in Bill.com to record expenses and appropriate coding/tracking. 
  • Entering deposits into the accountant's online portal; and on an as needed basis, processing electronic deposits to the bank or making cash deposits at the bank. 
  • Maintaining file security in the office and keeping physical records in order/up to date. 
  • Assisting with Grant Financial Administration, as needed (typically scanning or gathering documents and providing in-office grant needs). 
  • Assisting Chief Operating Officerwith the Annual Financial Audit and 990 Tax Returns, including scanning/uploading files and pulling documents for auditors. 
  • Processing staff’s expense reports, ensuring accuracy, and uploading them to Susan Matlock Jones accountant’s portal. 
  • Maintaining integrity and confidentiality in all duties. 
  • Has an understanding of and stays in compliance with GAAP and Federal Grant guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Accounting/Finance or relevant experience preferred 
  • 3-5 years working experience in bookkeeping/accounting, preferably in a nonprofit
  • Experience with Google Suites and Microsoft Office (especially Excel) 
  • Experience with an accounting software package 
  • Must be willing to embrace and uphold anti-racism and anti-oppression work and trainings
