The Opportunity
The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst primarily supports the work of the GIS/Cartography team in Assessment & Taxation (A&T). This team uses land records like deeds, surveys, and plats along with ESRI's ArcGIS Pro software to create a base map of property boundaries in the County. This layer is used by A&T's property appraisers to ensure accurate property taxation and is also used for emergency response and by countless other agencies, businesses, and individuals.
The GIS Analyst supports the property appraisers in other ways, regularly updating various maps and also helping to guide the integration of GIS and Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) data by creating custom maps and apps. In addition, the GIS Analyst assists the Elections Division of A&T, maintaining their web map and updating jurisdiction and precinct boundaries as they change over time.
