Washington County's Department of Facilities, Fleet, and Parks takes great pride in the planning, construction, maintenance, and repair of nearly 45 County-owned buildings (over 1.9 million square feet), grounds, parks, and associated hard-scape. We are looking for two Facilities Maintenance Technicians to join our skilled team in Facilities Division.
The Facilities Maintenance Technician II is the full journey-level class within the Facilities Maintenance Technician series. Employees in this class are distinguished from the Facilities Maintenance Technician I by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies within the work unit. Positions at this level are flexibly-staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the Facilities Maintenance Technician I level. For a complete list of essential duties, please use this link: Facilities Maintenance Technician II
Don’t have a Limited Building Maintenance Electrician’s license (LBME) or equivalent? That’s OK! This position is budgeted at the Facilities Maintenance Technician II, journey level, which requires the LBME license. However, Facilities is happy to underfill the position at the apprentice-level depending on the candidate pool and business needs. If hired at the I level, you will be actively enrolled in an LBME apprenticeship program upon employment with Washington County. Enrollment in the program will continue until you obtain the State of Oregon Limited Building Maintenance Electrician's license (LBME), or equivalent. You will have (1) year to obtain the LBME once you have reached the 2000 hours of electrical experience and completed all LBME classes.
The Facilities Maintenance Technician I is the apprentice-level class in the Facilities Maintenance Technician series. Employees at this level work closely with an assigned technician with the goal of learning the standard practices of the Facilities trade and providing support to the higher-level technicians within the trade. This class is distinguished from the Facilities Maintenance Technician II, in that the apprentice is an active participant in a structured apprentice program leading to full journey-level work. On-the-job training will be provided for entry-level candidates. For a complete list of essential duties, please use this link: Facilities Maintenance Technician I
