The Department of Housing Services/Housing Authority of Washington County is looking for a Supervisor - Housing Financial Operations to join our team! This position is part of the Finance, Accounting and Budget Division.

The Supervisor - Housing Financial Operations provides technical guidance and supervises a team of professional finance and accounting staff. The position manages the Department's and Housing Authority's day-to-day accounting functions, contracts and grant administration, and fiscal year end activities. The position is also responsible for assisting with financial reporting and audits.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

The Supervisor - Housing Financial Operations key job duties are:

1.    Supervising the Financial Operations Team

  • Senior Accounting Assistants that process accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
  • A Senior Accounting Assistant that processes contracts and grants.
  1.    Managing the Department's and Housing Authority's day-to-day accounting functions.
    3.    Managing the Housing Authority's contracts and grants administration.
    4.    Coordinating the Department's and Housing Authority's fiscal year end processes.
    5.    Assisting with financial reporting and audits.
    6.    Collaboratively developing and implementing process improvements.    
    7.     Establishing policies and procedures to ensure effective internal controls.
    8.    Collaborating closely with Washington County Finance, specifically accounting functions.
    9.    Participating in the implementation of the County's new enterprise resource planning system and the Housing Authority's new financial system.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: 

  • A Master's Degree in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, or a related field; AND two (2) years of progressively responsible professional experience performing budgetary or financial analysis, or auditing, which includes at least one (1) year of supervisory or lead worker experience spanning responsibilities in the defined principle duties of this position classification; OR 
  • A Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, or a related field; AND four (4) years of progressively responsible professional experience performing budgetary or financial analysis, or auditing, which includes at least one (1) year of supervisory or lead worker experience spanning responsibilities in the defined principle duties of this position classification; OR 
  • An Associate's Degree in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, or a related field; AND six (6) years of progressively responsible professional experience performing budgetary or financial analysis, or auditing, which includes at least one (1) year of supervisory or lead worker experience spanning responsibilities in the defined principle duties of this position classification; OR 
  • Eight (8) years of progressively responsible professional experience performing budgetary or financial analysis, or auditing, of which at least four (4) years of this experience must be in the public sector and includes at least one (1) year of supervisory or lead worker experience spanning responsibilities in the defined principle duties of this position classification.
