Washington County Behavioral Health Division within the Department of Health and Human Services is recruiting for a Community Restoration Navigator to join the Forensic team. This exciting position coordinates services for individuals with behavioral health needs who are court ordered to participate in community-based restoration services. About the Opportunity:
Heavy emphasis is on high-level collaboration across systems, including community mental health, jail medical services, and the courts. The primary goal of this position will be improving health outcomes through collaboration with the individual, system providers and partners, and other organizations providing support.  
Essential duties may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Conduct Community Restoration Consultation Evaluations; complete related paperwork and attend and testify at hearings as necessary. 
  2. Develop Community Restoration Plans based on identified needs; work with the patient, the court, attorneys, collaterals, and providers to implement and monitor the ongoing efficacy of the Plan.   
  3. Perform related Jail Diversion duties as assigned.
  4. Refer clients to outside agencies for social, economic, housing, and medical services as needed; arrange and coordinate service provision.
  5. Provide mental health and Aid and Assist education services to clients, families, provider agencies, and other stakeholders.  
  6. Perform PSRB, Community Restoration, and Jail Diversion backup support to those teams as requested by the supervisor. 
  7. Provide Psychological First Aid to citizens when necessary.  
  8. Attend advisory committees and coordinate meetings as necessary.

 

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the intersection of criminal justice and mental health, and the Aid and Assist process. They will have experience coordinating behavioral health services for people with mental health needs and facilitating cross-systems problem solving. Additionally, they will have experience advocating for justice involved individuals and working with community mental health and addictions services providers.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Community Restoration Navigator is a working title. This position is classified as a Senior Mental Health Services Coordinator. Classification descriptions are typically written broadly. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: 

  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field; AND three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in providing case management or services coordination in human services related field; AND
  • Must be certified by the Mental Health and Addictions Certification Board of Oregon as a Qualified Mental Health Professional or hold an approved clinical license and meet the criteria of a Qualified Mental Health Professional as defined in the Oregon Administrative Rules.
