Washington County's Department of Land Use and Transportation is recruiting for an Engineering Technician III (ET III) in The Capital Project Services Division (CPS).
The Position
This position is the highest level class within the Engineering Technician series and performs highly complex technical assignments. The CPS Division is responsible for multi-million dollar transportation improvement projects. The Engineering Technician III is a lead inspection person responsible for tasks related to the construction of transportation facilities, examples of duties include but are not limited to:
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess confidence to be the lead field technician on County capital transportation construction projects. They will have knowledge in various aspects of major road construction, bridges, complex retaining walls, traffic signal installation, and underground utility installations. They will also able be to read, understand and interpret complex construction plans, specifications and other contract documents.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
• Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in road construction, inspection, or civil or traffic engineering; OR
• An Associate’s Degree in civil engineering or related field; AND two (2) years of responsible experience in road construction, road construction inspection, construction management, civil engineering, traffic engineering, or surveying.
